A good time was had by all!
The day was hot for the 2nd Annual Summer Fun for the Fish held on Sunday, July 16th at Milo McIver State Park, but that didn’t hinder the fun. The burgers from Joe Daddy’s might have been even more delicious than last year.
Kids went home from the event excited about their day and the prizes they won while learning to cast a fishing rod & throw a disc (frisbee). Many of the kids painted rocks, ran a sack race, played tug-o-war & cornhole, cooled off under the mister tent, and were awarded the opportunity to throw water balloons at a volunteer. Almost almost everyone enjoyed a sno-cone.
There was an excellent array of bucket raffle items. Even with fewer attendees, the number of raffle tickets sold was more than double the amount of last year’s. Everyone wanted their chance at some great prizes. Doug Naef was the raffle winner of the Daniel Boone Green Mountain Grill.
The goal of this event is to show membership appreciation and to get kids involved and interested in fishing. We hope those of you that missed the event will join us next year for more Summer Fun for the Fish!
TENTATIVELY scheduled Saturday, July 27, 2024 – Watch for details!
